  Dear Rashmi,

Your life and struggle are a shining example of courage and conviction. Your ability to find that shimmer of hope and light in the misty clouds is evident of your dare to struggle yesterday, take risks and win today. You have shown that all serious daring starts from within.

And importantly, while enjoying the lyrical beauty of your poems, they nevertheless reveal that conscience, compassion and humility still reside within your being.

Your positive attitude and approach to life only brings to mind what Morris West said, and I quote him, “One has to abandon altogether the search for security, and reach out to the risk of living with both arms. One has to embrace the world like a lover. One has to accept pain as a condition of existence. One has to court doubt and darkness as the cost of knowing. One needs a will stubborn in conflict, but apt always to total acceptance of every consequence of living and dying.”

Warm regards.

- Shovana Narayan
